“As today marks the one-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 confirmed cases in Maryland, I want to express my gratitude to all of the front-line workers at the Maryland Department of Transportation who have stood tall in the face of a harrowing and uncertain path to help our community. I also urge you to pause with me and reflect on all of those who we have lost. MDOT was not immune to the pandemic and faced the loss of teammates and family members similarly to the rest of the state, the country, and the world. This pandemic has unfortunately touched all of us, and today is a somber reminder that our work is not done. We must continue to follow Governor Hogan’s leadership in doing our part to beat COVID-19.”

-Greg Slater, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT)
